Here at Cured, we love to educate our community about the truth and facts regarding cannabis and hemp related items, within this article we are diving into exactly how CBD helps with pain, what is a topical, what exactly is CBD oil, and when to reach for a certain product over the other.

How CBD helps with pain

If you are new here, I invite you to read our welcome blog to learn a bit more about Cured, and why we continue to stand out in an overcrowded industry. Nonetheless, a quick overview, CBD, known scientifically as cannabidiol, it is the second most commonly occurring cannabinoid within the marijuana plant, ranking in just below THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol.

What is unique and distinctive about CBD: unlike THC, CBD produces zero psychoactive effects, meaning that it does not create the typical high and euphoria that is linked with marijuana. It has proved to generate immense healing and a multitude of medically beneficial abilities. CBD helps pain on an anatomical level by directly targeting the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), which naturally produces some cannabinoids on its own, known as endocannabinoids.

The ECS is directly responsible for assisting in certain body processes, including sleep regulation, pain control, and immune system responses. With a supplemented increase in cannabinoids by consuming CBD, the body is encouraged to administer its already present endocannabinoids more efficiently, in turn, greater regulating its sleep patterns, immune system, and pain. This is the reason why so many have found grave success in treating their pain with the all-natural and non-psychoactive cannabidiol.

Due to the vast increase in recent popularity, researchers have begun conducting numerous studies regarding the efficiency of CBD for pain management and a variety of other medical uses. The results have proven to be rather remarkable and positive, confirming the claims made about CBD’s effectiveness, whether in oil or cream form.

A 2017 article published by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine conducted a study in which the results concluded, “In adults with chronic pain, patients who were treated with cannabis or cannabinoids are more likely to experience a clinically significant reduction in pain symptoms.” This statement is quite a massive development for the increasing of tolerance towards CBD and CBD based products.

In addition to the numerous case studies, plenty of other doctors are prescribing their patients to look into this healing plant!

So what exactly is a CBD topical?

CBD topicals are produced with the hemp extracted oils into a topical base. They act upon the body’s naturally occurring CB2 receptors by binding with these components. The CB2 receptors are activated by either the body’s own, already present endocannabinoid system (ECS), or through the presence of phytocannabinoids.

What is CBD Oil?

CBD oils are extracted from the hemp plant by using the purest method, which is known as the CO2 extraction method and utilizes carbon dioxide under a high-pressure environment and extremely low temperatures. This is the method we use at Cured to extract our CBD from hemp for each of our products. Testing and product regulation is supervised very closely to ensure we are providing the highest quality of products to each of our customers!

Due to its non-psychoactive healing properties, Cannabidiol (CBD) has gained popularity among health advocates seeking a natural alternative that may help certain conditions and symptoms like inflammation, anxiety, soreness, and more. As consumers start to understand how CBD can be used to alleviate their health concerns, they are often faced with a choice between a multitude of options. At Cured, we have two different oils for those looking to reap the benefits from a Full Spectrum Oil or/and a THC-Free option in our Classic Mint oil.

Should I Use CBD Oil or a CBD Topical?

For pain management, both topical and sublingual CBD work well, typically providing the most effective relief when utilized together. Sublingual CBD also assists in the aiding of symptoms from anxiety, depression and other mental disorders, as well as insomnia. Topicals work brilliantly at reducing inflammation, arthritis, headaches, cramping and migraines, and some evidence has shown that it can also heal eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and itching.

Both CBD oil and CBD cream products have their own unique and significant uses throughout the medical world. They are both highly capable of healing and diminishing pain plus daily discomforts. This all-natural alternative to conventional medications is reasonably affordable and does not produce any of the “high” effects that traditional strong THC products can, meaning that CBD could be consumed any day of the week at any time of day, leading to its extreme versatility and convenience.
