Pumpkin Spice Coconut Flan

We are very excited to share some of our favorite recipes with our new all organic Colorado grown hemp Cured Nutrition Pumpkin Spice. This one is very versatile with a sweet or savory dish. This can be used homestyle southern cooking for sweet potato pie to gourmet (but easy) flan. With some added salt, our Pumpkin Spice can be used as a table spice to add to almost any dish. We like to sprinkle this in our daily coffee or over our AM granola and everything inbetween.

CBD infused Cinnamon & Honey. One of our  most popular releases. Honey is higher in fructose than glucose like table sugar. With that said, it is fewer calories for a smaller serving without sacrificing sweetness. Not to mention, honey is lower on the glycemic index (GI) meaning it is overall better for you when considering blood sugar levels.

Local honey can also act as an allergy suppressant. Let’s keep it natural, shall we?

Why we do we like flan? Why do we like flan even more when it has our Pumpkin Spice and Cinnamon & Honey spice? Because this recipe is a crowd pleaser, easy to make, gluten free, half way between a flan and a pie texture, rich in protein, low in sugar and absolutely delicious. We like feeding our loved ones!

PUMPKIN SPICE COCONUT FLAN

Serving dish options

1.Hollowed out pie pumpkin approx. 6″ wide (this is more difficult with altitude)

2. 6-8 small oven safe ceramic personal dishes

3. 1 9″ pie pan

Flan Ingredients:

  • 3 T Pumpkin Spice Organic CURED NUTRITION
  • 1 T Cinnamon & Honey Organic CURED NUTRITION
  • 1 Can (13 oz) unsweetened coconut milk
  • ⅓ C brown sugar
  • ⅓ C sugar
  • 1 C canned pumpkin puree
  • 5 Large eggs
  • 1 t vanilla extract

Instructions: Combine first 4 ingredients in a medium saucepan on low heat until mixture begins to simmer. Allowing the Pumpkin Spice and Cinnamon & Honey to infuse allows your sugar to dissolve prior to combining all ingredients. Remove from heat and let  your first part of the mixture infuse for approx. 45 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350°.

Melt ⅓ Cup sugar in clean pan to pour in bottom of your pan or individual oven safe dishes. Since the majority of us to not have a torch to create a cartelized fan top prior to serving, this is the home kitchen alternative that we here at Cured Nutrition in our own homes cook with often.

Meanwhile, combine last 3 ingredients (pumpkin, eggs, vanilla extract). Mix your pan and this mixture together. Pour into your serving dish.

Place serving dish/ pie plate into a larger baking dish to allow warm water to rise ½ way up your baking dish (for a steaming effect in the oven).
