What’s Happening in the World of Wellness?

In the world of wellness, health gurus are now reaching for their highly concentrated CBD oil, instead of the typical NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) that has been living in the bottom of their purses for the last year. Sound familiar..?

Due to its non-psychoactive healing properties, Cannabidiol (CBD) has gained popularity among health advocates seeking a natural alternative that may help certain conditions and symptoms like inflammation, anxiety, soreness, and more. As consumers start to understand how CBD can be used to alleviate their health concerns, they are often faced with a choice between a multitude of options.

So, the real question these conscious wellness seekers are facing now is what oil do I choose?

Let’s begin by breaking down the two different oils CURED has on it’s shelves:

The Full Spectrum Hemp Oil:

The cannabis plant contains hundreds of different phytochemicals including cannabinoids, terpenes, and other compounds. When CBD is referred to as “full spectrum” or “whole plant extract”, it means that product contains CBD as well as all other cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant including CBN (Cannabinol), CBG (Cannabigerol), and THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin), to only name a few. And yes, along with these cannabinoids, hemp-derived full spectrum products also contain trace amounts of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), but typically in very low concentrations (up to .3%).

When you select a full-spectrum hemp option, you benefit from this multitude of potentially beneficial exogenous cannabinoids, as well as the plant terpenes and flavonoids found in the original hemp plant. With a full-spectrum product, these compounds are left available in the same ratios that nature intended. The additional compounds found in a full- spectrum hemp products include:

  • All 20 essential amino acids
  • Calcium and magnesium
  • Iron and potassium
  • Phosphorus and zinc
  • Omega-3 fatty acids
  • B complex vitamins
  • Vitamins C, E and A

The Classic THC Free Mint Oil:

CBD Isolate products are generally labeled as being 99% or more pure CBD depending on the form they come in. CBD Isolate is simply purified CBD that has been extracted from the hemp plant and isolated from the other cannabinoids and plant compounds.

During the isolate extraction process, through a method called chromatography, all other plant materials are removed, including other cannabinoids and plant terpenes. The result is a white powder comprised of at least 99 percent CBD. This new substance, CBD isolate, is flavorless and odorless.

  • Trace amounts of THC are potentially removed
  • No flavor to interfere with the taste of your edible products
  • No odor of the original plant source
  • More control of the CBD levels of the finished product
  • The potential for higher levels of CBD per dose
  • Lower cost/milligram

If you ask long time users, myself included, there is no debate that CBD notably offers a wide variety of health benefits.

But the questions is, which oil is more effective?

For those seeking to reap the benefits of CBD, and to stay THC FREE, The Classic THC Mint Oil is your go to!

CBD and the other cannabinoids have therapeutic benefits to humans thanks to our endocannabinoid system, a series of cannabinoid receptor (CB1 and CB2) throughout the entire body. These receptors react to the cannabinoids our bodies produce which are molecularly very similar to the cannabinoids from cannabis and hemp.

However, for those seeking to explore what the other cannabinoids can offer to their well-being, The Full Spectrum Hemp Oil is a must try.

It was previously believed that CBD in its isolated form was more potent and concentrated than full spectrum CBD, however in a 2015 study, researchers compared two groups who took full spectrum CBD and CBD isolate. When results were compared, the findings told that the group who consumed the full spectrum CBD were provided with higher levels of relief. The finding provided relief as the dose increased for those consuming full spectrum, however for the CBD isolate user, they still received relief, but did not provide the same level of effect when there was an increase in dosage.

Although the study did show Full Spectrum CBD has ultimately proven to be more effective than CBD Isolate, it does not discredit the effectiveness of CBD Isolate.

There are a wide variety of scenarios where CBD Isolate would be the preferred choice over Full Spectrum CBD. For example, you may not necessarily be concerned about the potency a Full Spectrum product can offer by comparison, or you may even be looking to avoid THC altogether.

Whatever your preference or familiarity you have with CBD, we can conclude that CBD has the potential to work with your endocannabinoid system to support many vital functions making life healthier, happier, and elevated state to thrive in.

We encourage all of our curious consumers to learn all you can about full-spectrum an isolate products and the potential benefits each may provide to your health and well-being.

It should be noted that the best CBD products are sourced from Pesticide-Free, non-GMO hemp plants. To learn more about full-spectrum and CBD isolate derived from organically-grown hemp, we invite you to visit us at CURED Nutrition and to download The Ultimate User Guide.

Now to the goods…..

This week, in the CURED kitchen, we are whipping up something special:

An infused Roasted Beet Salad on Arugula.

  • 8 medium-sized beets tops removed and scrubbed
  • 16 oz baby arugula
  • 4 oz soft goat cheese crumbled
  • shelled unsalted pistachios

Vinaigrette Ingredients

  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ½ cup olive oil or avocado oil
  • 2 servings of CURED Raw Full Spectrum Oil
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

  1. First roast the beets: preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Wrap the beets in parchment paper, then in aluminum foil and place them on a sheet pan.
  3. If you prefer not to use aluminum foil at all, then just put the beets straight onto the baking sheet. Drizzle with some olive oil, then sprinkle with sea salt and pepper before putting them in the oven.
  4. Roast the beets for 50-60 minutes, or until a sharp knife inserted in the center shows they’re tender.
  5. While the beets are cooking begin to prep dressing and bed of arugula
  6. To make the vinaigrette combine all the vinaigrette ingredients in a small bowl or mason jar and whisk or shake to combine.
  7. When the beets are done, unwrap and let cool for 10 minutes before peeling.
  8. Chop the cooled and peeled beets, then sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Place the arugula in a large bowl and toss it with enough dressing to coat, then move the arugula to a serving platter.
  10. Arrange the chopped beets, pistachios, and goat cheese on top of the arugula.
  11. Serve warm or at room temperature.
